Environmental stewardship Project
The Environmental Stewardship project will focus on improving plant biodiversity and habitat restoration at McClellan Ranch. We will have planting and habitat restoration workdays at the Ranch and collaborate with Grassroots Ecology, a local non-profit, and the Rolling Hills 4-H Bee Keeping Project to learn about native plants, biodiversity, and habitat restoration.
This project is very hands-on as we work at McClellan Ranch to remove invasive species, and plant locally native plants in order to restore, maintain and preserve the wildlife habitats and natural waterways at McClellan Ranch where many of our Club’s animals are housed. We will also learn about important environmental concepts such as biodiversity, native vs. invasive species, and habitat preservation.
