Pack Goat Project

Pack goats are typically neutered male dairy goats (although does can also be pack goats) that have been trained to carry a pack and go hiking. In the monthly meetings project members learn about things like nutrition and goat health, training a pack goat, first aid (goat and human), goat carting, and camping and hiking responsibly and safely. We plan and go on an overnight camping trip with the goats, and perform a service project at the state park where we camp. You do not have to own a goat to enjoy this project. If you’re interested in goats but don’t want to breed or milk, enjoy camping and hiking and are 9 years or older then this project is for you.
